Focus on Prayer

I’ve started a lens (page) on Squidoo for the express purpose of adding prayer to the things people are doing about missing children. Please visit the page here. Vote–rate–the lens to show your support. Spread the word. But most of all, pray. But don’t pray for “the children.” Choose a child, or several children. When you pray, have a specific child in mind. Then please join us for a Day of Prayer for Missing Children on August 15th. There is more information on Squidoo.

We’ll be posting specific prayers for children here, so please feel free to share yours.

Heveanly Father, we want to thank You for the people who visit this web site. They are all searching to know you more, to know you better. Even if they’re not fully aware of that just yet. We’re honored and humbled to be a small part of that process. Some interact here in one or more ways; others just pass through quickly. Father, we pray that You continue to guide everyone on their path to You. Their transient time here on this web site reminds us that we’re all just visitors here on earth. One day, all that will be left of us here will be memories of our presence as we spend eternity in heaven with You. God, please keep us ever-mindful that our eternal life begins not when we die, but right now. This very moment. Help us to live with the perspective of the eternal beings that we are. Thank You, Lord, for the opportunity you have given all of us as visitors here on earth to reflect to others one small sliver of the love You have for us. We join with Jesus and all the angels when we say, Amen.

Heavenly Father, please be with all of us in this time of sorrow. I ask You to comfort the students, faculty, and staff of Virginia Tech and their families and friends who are in pain. Send healing to all those wounded in body and in spirit. And Lord, I ask for Your peace to be given to any of us who are troubled by this tragic event. We will never understand why things like this happen, Lord. But we do know we can count on You. Amen.
