Specific, pre-written prayers can play an important role in your prayer life.

• For those who don't feel they are very eloquent, these prayers can give voice to inner feelings and thoughts.
• The rich tradition of these prayers forms a common thread among Christians...stretching back to when Jesus walked the earth.
• There is plenty of evidence that these prayers are effective, proven over time to be helpful.

While there is a danger of falling into quick repetition of these prayers without much thought or feeling, our experience--and the experience of others--indicates we actually internalize the words.  Over time, the words become ours, truly "written on our hearts."
